Itinerary

Yangon – Putao – Myitkyina – Bamaw – Ayeyarwaddy River Sightseeing – Mandalay– Bagan – Kalaw – Inle –Yangon
( 21 Days / 20 Nights )

Day 1.Yangon ( Arrival )

Arrive at Yangon International Airport, warmly welcome by our company representative. After check in hotel, take your time free. Upon to your arrival time at Yangon, you can make half day sightseeing in the town or take a rest at your hotel to refresh for your great tip in Myanmar. Dinner at a local restaurant and one night stay at a hotel in Yangon will be good introduction to our Golden Land, Myanmar.

 

Day 2 .Yangon

Today, start a full day Yangon sightseeing from Shwedagon pagoda, it is the most popular land mark of Myanmar and beautifully majestic pagoda all over the world. Standing on the highest hill of Yangon and its high 99.9 meters, it dominate town. After visiting Shwedagon pagoda, drive to colorful vegetable Thirimingalar Market. And then, transfer you to the downtown for city tour, visit historic Botahtaung pagoda, Strand hotel which is one of the most famous historic colonial buildings in Asia and earliest 5 star hotel in the country and Yangon river site. Walking among the beautiful colonial buildings and visiting 2000 year old Sule pagoda in the down town will be highlight of city  sightseeing. After lunch, proceed to Chaukhtatgyi reclining Buddha image and Ngahtatgyi sitting Buddha image. After that, walk around the China town to see the real daily life of the people in the city. After dinner, overnight will be at the same hotel in Yangon.

 

Day 3.Yangon -  Putao by flight

After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to airport for your flight to Putao. Upon arrival at Putao airport, you will be welcomed by our representative to pick you up to the downtown of Putao which lies in a flat valley, jumping-off point for trekkers who want to explore the region’s deep forests, wildlife sanctuaries and snow-capped mountains. After a brief fresh up at a local restaurant, check in for your accommodation.

After take a rest at your hotel or guest house, enjoy scenic driving to Mularshide village. After sightseeing in the village, we will walk on the beautiful bridge which over Mular river. Looking to the snowcap mountain from the bridge will be the best introduction to northern Myanmar. You will seed crystal ice white water on the rocky river “ Mular”. Fishing children, women watching on a stone of river, bamboo-rafting men on the current river, kind fisher and sweet sound of the river will send you to be in the nature. Dinner will be at a local restaurant and proceed to Shankaung village for one night.

 

Day 4.Shankaung village – Mt. Shankhaung – Putao

In the early morning enjoy your breakfast and start trekking on the shoulder of Mt. Shankhaung which is famous for it’s evergreen rain forest and jade mine. It will be the best trekking and give you nature and wild life experiences. The trek to the summit of Mt.Shangaung with the distance of 10 km will take about 4 hours trek. The first 9 Km  will be straight up along the trail winding up to the top of the mountain. After lunch, enjoy the panoramic view of the Putao at the top of the mountain, the trail will go down with 9 km to the village on the same trail back. On arrival at the village, take your leisure at Rawan house near a small rocky river. In the evening, drive back to Putao and night stop will be at a hotel in Putao.

( Optional Sightseeing if you do want to trek to Mt.Shankhaung )

After breakfast, strolling in and out of the village to observe the way of life of the Lizu and Rawan people. And then,  visit Marmule Lizu village, Mudone Rawan village. Lunch will be in Putao. In the evening, trek to Makyaw wa Lisu Village for sightseeing by walking. It will take you back one century ago. You can visit river site, Lise and Rawan traditional houses and their families. Dinner and night will be in Putao.

 

Day 5.Putao morning market – Kaungmulone Pagoda-Manhkuk village, Nankhan Village – Machanbaw –Malikha River Boat Trip- Putao

After breakfast at the hotel, visit Putao Morning Market and stroll around town to observe the way of life of the people. After leisure morning sightseeing, proceed to Kaungmulone Pagoda which stands on the bank of the Malikha river and famous as the most holiest place of the northern Myanmar. We will enjoy the scenic driving and visit Mankuk and Nankhan  villages on the way to Mularshide, a small administrations town.  In the evening, make a boat trip to Nat island which stand on the Malikha river as a tiny island. Dinner and overnight stay will same as last night.

 

Day 6.Putao – Myintkyinaby flight

In the early morning visit Putao morning market and have breakfast at a local restaurant. After that, visit Hakaborazi and Phoneganrazi national parts wild life education center, Fort Hertz and transfer to airport for your domestic flight to Yangon or Mandalay. If time permitted, you will visit a village to observe daily lifestyle of the local people. After lunch, we will take a flight to Myitkyina, the capital of the Kachin state. Upon our arrival time at Myintkyina, visit Manaw place and Jawbon Tower to see the panoramic view of the town and its vicinity mountain range. We enjoy the sunset on the western bank of Ayeyarwaddy River. We will have dinner at a river view restaurant and overnight stay at a hotel in Myitkyina.

 

Day 7.Myitkyina – Bamaw

In our experiences, Myitkyina morning market is the most exotic and biggest vegetable market in upper Myanmar. It is on the bank of the river. All of the fisher men and villagers from the small villages come and joy the market by their small boats with the sunrise. All Kachin local products could be seen in the market. Beautiful lovely small flower market can be visited just beside of the main market. After taking your time easy in the market, we’ll enjoy five hour scenic driving to Bamaw. On the way, we visit some small tribal villages. Moenyin village is one of the main highlights on long driving to Bamaw, which is located on the bank of the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River and Tarpain River. In the evening, we will joy the pleasant sunset view at the busy river side of Bamaw. Dinner and overnight stay at Friend Ship hotel will make you to be cozy.

 

Day 8.Bamaw Sightseeing

After breakfast, we should visit morning market and busy riverside of the Tarpain River. After that, we wonder around Bamaw by taking a horse card. Shwekyena pagoda and Theindawgyi monastery are highlights of morning sightseeing. After lunch, we will make half day boat trip to Theinphar monastery. It is a famous meditation center and situated on the highest hill by the river of Tarpain. We enjoy our private boat trip to take some beautiful photos of the people along the small river on the sunset time. Dinner and overnight are at Friend Ship hotel in Bamaw.

 

Day 9.Bamaw – Ayeyarwaddy River - Kathar

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to jetty to get in boat to Kathar. We start our wonderful Ayeyarwaddy discovery journey by a public boat. Enjoy scenic bout trip with local people along the mighty river. After about two hour boat driving, we will be in second defile of Ayeyarwaddy river. Driving between two rocky cliffs will give you a peaceful moment. If you are lucky, we will seed wild Ayeyarwaddy dolphins. The main attraction of the boat trip will be on boat and at the both sites of the river. We will have lunch on bout and  continue to Kather. Our boat will stop at some small villages to pick some more passengers  at the both sites of the river. In the evening, we will arrive Kathar and will make a visit to  famous “Joeowel house” and some old colonial historic monuments in the small town. After stolling around the small town, we will have dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight will be at a small hotel in Kather.

 

Day 10.Kathar - Ayeyarwaddy River - Mandalay

After breakfast, we will transfer to the jetty for our river journey to royal capital of Myanmar, Mandalay. It will be whole day river journey again on famous Ayeyarwaddy river. You will see daily life of fishermen, colorful plantation on the bot site of the river, bamboo and timber rafts along the river by scenic boat journey. Ayeyarwaddy dolphin will see again today if you watch them carefully along the trip. On the way, you will seed the biggest temple of Myanmar at Mingu from your boat. In the evening, arrive at Mandalay and transfer to your hotel for night stop.

 

Day 11.Mandalay Sightseeing

In the morning, we will start our sightseeing at Amarapura to see one of the holiest Buddha statue of Myanmar, Mahamuni Buddha image and local pilgrimages in its compound. After that, we will be in Mahagandaryone monastery, one of the biggest monastic schools for over one thousand educated Buddhist monks at their lunch time. And also walking on the world famous the longest teak wood bridge will be include in morning sightseeing. After lunch, you can take a short rest at your hotel or visit some handy craft workshops and continue afternoon sightseeing, which include Shwenandaw Monastery, the most beautifully woodcarving monastery originally remain from the Mandalay royal palace of King Thibaw, Kuthodaw Pagoda as know as the “ World Biggest book” for his 729 stone tablets of Buddhist Pali canon and Kyauktawgyi Pagoda, a great single marble Buddha image. Enjoy the sunset and have a look magnificent view of Mandalay city from Mandalay hill in the evening. Dinner will be at a local restaurant and overnight again will be at the same hotel.

 

Day 12.Mandalay – Sagaing – Inwa

After leisure morning and breakfast,  we will make a tour to  Sagaing hill which is covered with over 500 stups and Buddhist monasteries. The main highlights are Soon U Ponya Shin Pagoda which stands on the top of the hill and the Buddha images of the U Minthonesel cave. The vista of Mandaly city, beautiful Ayeyarwaddy River and Kaungmudaw Pagoda will be seen very clearly from the hill. After lunch, proceed to Ava to visit an old teak wooden monastery “Bagayar”, “Maha” bridge monastery and Nanmyint Watch Tower by horse and card. If you want, you can  have unforgettable sunset experiences at over 200-year- old world longest teak bridge, “ U Bein Bridge” in Taungthaman lake. After dinner, overnight will be at the same hotel in Mandalay.

 

Day 13.Mandalay – Bagan by flgiht

After breakfast, transfer to airport and will take a fly to Bagan for an excursion tour to Myanma ancient temples and stupas. It is one of the hidden wonders of the world and hart of Myanmar heritages. As introduction, we will visit a high stupa or temple to see the panoramic view of ruined temples and stupas compound of ancient Bagan. In this morning, Nandamanya which is a small temple with best line drawing of 13th century, Phayathonezu temples with marvelous fasco painting and Thanbula Temple which famous for the best hand writing of early Myanmar alphabets on the inner wall and Minnanthu village will be main highlights. After lunch, we will visit memorable Ananda Temple for his the best architecture style, the biggest and most massive temple “Damayangyi” , the tallest Thatbaynyu temple which dommenate the old Bagan and the earlest stupa “Ngakyew Nadaung” will be visited. In the evening, enjoy the sunset at huge “Pyathtgyi” temple. After dinner, overnight will be at a hotel in Bagan.

 

Day 14.Bagan Sightseeing

In the morning, the ideal places to visit are colorful morning vegetable market in Nyaung Oo , the best model Shwezegone pagoda, , three story amazing architecture style temple “Htilominlo” and Khayminga five-corner stupas compound. After lunch, proceed to lacquer ware factory to study the process of Bagan lacquer ware making. It is a unique handmade souvenir of not only in Bagan but also in Myanmar. After lunch, we will visit the biggest Manuha Buddha images, the only one stone carving decorated temple “Nan Phayar” and Gupyutgyi Temple for its 11th century painting inside. In the evening, proceed to a temple to enjoy the vista of Bagan and unforgettable sunset view. Being the best photogenic tourism site in Myanmar, Bagan is must visit site for all photo hunter travelers to Myanmar. Dinner and night stop will be in Bagan again.

 

Day 15.Bagan – Pindaya - Kalaw

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to the airport to take a flight to Heho airport.  Upon to our arrival time at the airport, enjoy the scenic driving to Pindaya Cave which is famous for over 3000 Buddha images made of different materials in different period. Hiding on the rocky cliff of a forest hill, it was found in 1981 by a wonderer. Entering in the cave will take you to be in old Buddha statues museum of Shan nation. After, visiting Bamboo umbrella, paper factories and Pindaya Lake, continue drive to Kalaw. Dinner and night stop will be in Kalaw.

 

Day 16.Kalaw- Lupyin Village - Sharpin Village-Nanthalathe Village

After visiting colorful morning market, start our trekking among the pine forest. It will very pleasant and peaceful trekking time because the pine forest are situated about 4000ft from the sea level. After one and half hour trekking, visit Lupyin village, a small village of Danu tribes. And then, continue our trekking to Sharpin village for an hour to visit an old Danu monastery and lunch stop. After lunch, our trekking will be among the pine forest again and through the vegetable farms on the hills. In the evening, arrive Nanthalathe village for our night stop. Danu people and their way of life in the village will make you to have good evening sightseeing in the village. And also, you can enjoy the sunset on a hill near the monastery. Dinner and overnight stay will be at village monastery.

 

Day17.Nanthalathe Village-Bawhinnkone Village-Konehla Village-Pathtopuk Village-Htethein Village

After breakfast at the monastery start trek to Bawhninkone village. About 300 houses and nearly one thousand people living,  this village become one of the big Pao villages around this area. This morning most of the trekking will be on forest hills. On the way we will visit Konehla, a small Danu village and see different colorful tribes who grow many vegetable and rice in the farms. Cattles, buffalos and oxs are essential for their farming and transportation on the hill. We will have lunch at a Danu tradition house and take a rest for a moment. After lunch, trekking again to Pat Hto Puk Pao village will take one hour and next half hours trekking through farming area and bamboo forests will take you to be in our ngiht stop village, “ Htethein village”. In the village, you can visit over 100 years old wooden Buddhist monastery and see the daily activities of the hill tribes. Dinner and overnight will be served at a wooden house of the village.

 

Day 18.Htethein Village-Kyauksu Village-Than Taung Village-Inle Lake

After breakfast, we will do up and down trekking under with sunrise. On the way, visit Kyauksu village to see a different tribe of Taung Thu people. Their main significant are wearing their traditional black color costumes and living only on the hills. After sightseeing Nyu Pao village, our down trekking will be again among the vegetable farms and on the stony trail of rocky hill site  for half an hour. After that, trekking will be along a small stream among the bamboo forest to visit Than Taung village. It is an Inthar village and lies on the bank on the Inle lake. Lunch at a traditional house and take a short rest. After that, proceed to the bank of the lake to take our private boat to transfer to our hotel in the Inle Lake. Enjoy the sunset on boat. Dinner and overnight will be at a hotel on the lake.

 

Day 19.Inle Sightseeing

After leisure morning at your hotel Inle lake sightseeing will be done by a private boat to observe the daily lifestyle of the Innthar people who live on the water in the highest lake of the country.  Inle lake is the second largest lake and lies at about 1000m altitude among the hazy blue mountain of the Shan mountain range. Leg rolling fisher men, floating tomato gardens, weaving and silver smith villages are unique attraction of the lake. We will visit Phaungdaw Oo pagoda for its 11th century style five golden Buddha images and an old Shan lacquer ware Buddha images museum at Jumping Cat Monastery in the day time. In the evening, we will enjoy the beautiful sunset on boat. The scenery of the beautiful sunset on the shoulder of hazy blue mountain range behind the lake will take you to be in paradise. Night stop will be at a hotel on the lake.

 

Day 20.Inle and Indein Sightseeing

Today, firstly we will visit colorful five-day morning market. On the way, enjoy the scenic boat driving among the beautiful floating vegetable islands and ethnic floating villages. You will see many colorful tribal people in their traditional costume, all of their handmade products and all sort of vegetables grown in and out of the lake at morning market. After that, proceed to Indein, which is located on the western bank of the lake. On the way to Indein, enjoy the upstream driving through small locks of the narrow stream surrounded by greed bamboo forest and paddy field. Indein is famous for over one thousand ruinous pagodas complex as a small Bagan. It was hidden among the bushes for long time and open for tourist last few years ago. You should take your time easy  among these old monuments and back to hotel in the evening. Overnight will be at the same hotel as last nights.

 

Day 21.Inle lake  – Yangon by flight for your departure

In the morning, proceed to Heho airport for your flight to Yangon. Arrive at Yangon and take your time in the commercial city of the country. After lunch, proceed to Yangon International airport for your international flight on the same day because you will arrive back to Yangon at lunch time. On arrival at the international airport, it will be at the end of your great experience on our wonderful land with Travel Expert. (If you prefer to make a one more night stop at Yangon, we can offer for your private day again )
