Trip Overview
Rakhine Expedition will take you back to be in some centuries ago. Visiting royal capital of Rakhine, Myauk U which famous for its stone carving monuments, all ancient Rakhine Pagodas, sailing in the mightily Khitsapanadi River to make river sightseeing and Chin tattooed faced women villages on the both sites of the Laymyo river, colorful morning vegetable and fish market at Sittwe are the main attraction of the tour. This tour is designed for an extension trip to ancient capital on Rakhine. You can observe Rakhine temples, cultural and way of life of its people, and Chin villages.

Itinerary
Yangon- Sittwe- Mrauk Oo- Yangon

Day 1.Yangon - Sittwe
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer you to the airport and fly to Sittwe which is located at the month of Kaladan River and on the Bay of Bengal. It is a quite small town but the capital of Rakhine state. Rakhine is one of the major tribes of Myanmar and famous for their history of Arakan people and their kingdom. On your arrival, visit Lawkammarira monastery and Rakhine museum, you will see the variety of their invaluable ancient heritages which including old coins, Buddha images, sand stone statues and etc. After that, transfer you to the river site to observe the daily life of fisherman and watch the river site with sunset. One night stop will be make at a hotel in Sittwe.
Day 2 .Sittwe - Mrauk Oo
After breakfast, visit morning fish market to see the various kinds of fishes from the sea and many fishermen who come and join the market by their small boat. And then, start our half day excursion boat trip to Mrauk U by our private boat. Lunch on the boat and take fresh breeze air along the river. When we arrive at Mrauk Oo, which is a small ancient town and covered with a lot of old stone monuments of 12th to 16th century, transfer to the hotel. In the evening, we will visit Bandula monastery and palace wall follow by enjoy the sunset with country site view from the top of the Harri hill. Overnight will be at a hotel in Myauk Oo.
Day 3.Mrauk Oo ( Sightseeing )
Today, we will visit “Shite Thaung”, the temple of victory by King “Mont bar Gree” of 13 A.D. Shite Thaung is the main attraction of Mrauk U and known as 80000 Buddha images enshrined built with sand stone. It is a really impressive and represents the Buddha’s previous lives in the inner passages and outer passages by sand stone carving. Visiting Shit Thaung is likely entering to another dimension of Myanmar cultural heritage. Moreover, you can see the acient “Htuk Kant Thein” Temple beside of Shit Thaung temple. After that we will visit “ Ann Daw Thein” temple, Lay Myat Nanr temple and “Maharbwdi Shwegu” Temple. After lunch, visit Kothaung Temple, famous for his amazing images in the inside of the temple. Other interesting places are Piese Pagoda oof five big statues, That Kyar Man Aung stupa and the best stone curving images at Nan Oo pagoda. Evening sunset at a pagoda hill will be a good photo opportunity. Overnight will be at the same hotel in Myauk U.
Day 4.Mrauk Oo
If you wish, get up in the early morning and enjoy the beautiful sunrise near your hotel. After sunrise, back to the hotel for your breakfast. Today excursion trip, we will visit “Waytharli” acient city of 4th to 8th century, which including the most holy place of the Rakhaing people, “Maha Muni” Buddha image at Kyauktaw ancient city. On the way, make a short visit to a museum. And then, proceed back to Myauk U for other interesting places. Night stop will be same as yesterday.

After breakfast, we will make a boat trip to visit some Chin villages on the both sides of the Laymon river. Flowing between two forest mountains and having crystal water, it became one of the most beautiful rivers in Myanmar. We will visit 3 or 4 Chin villages to see their tattooed face women and authentic cultural of Chin and Rakhine people. It is pleasant scenic boat driving to look the way of life of the people on their sailing and rolling bamboo rafts. We will see many bamboo rafts and small sailing boats along the river. For their trading and travelling, they spend their time along the beautiful river. In the evening, driving back to Mrauk Oo and take your leisure in the small town. Night stop will be same as previous days.
Day 5.Mrauk Oo – Sittwe – Yangon
Breakfast at the hotel, transfer and take our private boat to make a journey back to Sittwe. Enjoy your half day boat trip on the Khitsapanadi river. When we arrive at Sittwe, transfer to the airport for your flight to Yangon. Upon arrival at Yangon, take your leisure at your hotel.
