This 12-day itinerary includes Shwedagon Pagoda complex in Yangon, amazing holey Golden Rock pagoda , ancient Mon capital of Bago, the astounding temple and stupa plains of Bagan, the last royal capital of Mandalay and the floating islands of the world famous Inle Lake.
Day 1.Yangon ( Arrival )
Arrive at Yangon International Airport, warmly welcome by our company representative. After check in hotel , take your leisure time. Upon to your arrival time at Yangon, you can make half day sightseeing in the town or take a rest at your hotel to refresh for your great tip in Myanmar. The Colonial buildings in the town prove her to be a historical site in Asia. Dinner and over night at a hotel in Yangon will serve you to be pleasure.
Day 2 .Yangon ( Sightseeing )
Today, start a full day Yangon sightseeing from Shwedagon pagoda, it is the most popular land mark of Myanmar and beautifully majestic pagoda all over the world. Located on the highest hill of Yangon and also is a 99.9 meters tall, it dominated town. After visiting Shwedagon pagoda, drive to colorful vegetable Thirimingalar Market. And then, transfer you to the downtown for city tour, visit historic Botahtaung pagoda, Strand hotel which is one of the most famous historic colonial buildings in Asia and earliest 5 star hotel in the country and river site of Yangon. Walking among the beautiful colonial style buildings and visit 2000 year old Sule pagoda will be highlight of today sightseeing. After lunch, proceed to Chaukhtatgyi reclining Buddha image and Ngahtatgyi sitting Buddha image. After that, walk around the China town to see the real life of the people in the city. Overnight will be at the same hotel in Yangon.
Day 3.Yangon- Bago- Golden Rock
As the beginning of our procedure on this day, we proceed to Golden Rock Pagoda by our private car. On the way, we visit Kyikepun ( Four Faces )Buddha images at Bago and stop several times to take country-site photos. We’ll have our lunch on the way and leave our private car in the truck station at the first based camp. And then, proceed to upper camp by taking a public open truck for 45 minutes driving along the hair-pin-bens road among the forests mountains. And then, we will start trekking for two and half kilometers to be at the top. After taking a short rest at hotel, we visit Golden Rock Pagoda on the summit of the hazy blue mountain. It is famous for its magical point between gigantic boulder and high steep rock. It has stood on the edge of the steep rock hill for over 2500 years. On the pagoda platform, we can enjoy the sunset and observe the ways of life of the local pilgrims. It’s cold and very pleasant atmosphere for the elevation of 3615 ft. Enjoy the dinner and pleasurable night life on the mountain can make our mind refresh and give experiences that we cannot forget. Overnight will be at a hotel on the hill top.
Day 4.Golden Rock – Bago – Yangon
After breakfast, we trek down and take an open truck again to our private car. On the way back, we will meet many local people, monks who are going around the mountain to receive offering foods and some hermits who made meditation in the deep jungle. We will take our private car again and drive back to Bago to visit huge Shwe Thar Lyaung reclining Budha image and Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda, the highest stupa which dominated the town. After lunch, we visit golden Kanbawzathardi Palace of King Bayint Naung and Hinthargone Hill, the highest top point of the region. In the evening, we drive back to Yangon to have pleasing sunset feeling. One night stop at the hotel in Yangon.
Day 5.Yangon – Mandalay
In the morning, proceed to Mandalay by flight and visit Mahamuni Buddha image and its compound which is crowded with local pilgrimages during the hold day and Mahagandaryone monastery, one of the biggest monastic schools for over one thousand educated Buddhist Monk. In the evening, we make a social call to Shwenandaw Monastery, the most beautifully woodcarving monastery originally from the palace compound of King Thibaw, Kuthodaw Pagoda know as the `` World Biggest book ‘’ for his 729 stone tables of Buddhist Pali canon and Kyauktawgyi Pagoda, a great single marble Buddha image. During the peaceful time of sunset on the Mandalay hill, we can have a magnificent view of Mandalay city and its countryside. Night stop will be at hotel in Mandalay.
Day 6.Mandalay – Mingun – Sagaing – Inwa
In the morning, we take an excursion boat trip on the mighty Ayeyarwaddy to explore the way of life of the people who live on the banks of the river and on the small sand islands. The first visit for the day program will be the world biggest running bell, Mingun Bell, the biggest temple of Myanmar, Mingunphahtotawgyi and the most beautiful temple on the world, Myatheindan Zadi in Mingun village. Then we continue to Sagaing hill covered with over 500 stups and Buddhist monasteries to visit Sonn U Ponya Shin Pagoda and the Buddha images of the U Minthonesel cave on the hill top. The vista of Mandalay city, beautiful Ayeyarwaddy River and Kaungmudaw Pagoda could be seen very clearly from the hill. In the evening, we visit Inwa for an old teak wood Bagaya monastery, an old brick monastery, Maha Aungmye Bonezan monastery and Nanmyint Watch Tower. We will have unforgettable sunset experiences at over 200- year- old world longest teak bridge, U Bein Bridge in Taungthaman lake. Night stop will be at the same hotel in Mandalay.
Day 7.Mandalay – Bagan
After breakfast, we fly to Bagan for an excursion tour to Myanmar ancient temples and stupas. It is one of the wonders of the world and the biggest UNESCO sites in Asia. We will visit Thyokepye Temple to see the wonderful panoramic view of ruined temples and stupas , Nandamanya which is famous for the best line drawing of 13th century and Phayathonezu temples with marvelous fasco painting follow by Thanbula Temple which famous for the best hand writing of early Myanmar alphabets on the inner wall and Minnanthu village. In the evening, the best style of Ananda Temple, the most missive Damayangyi Temple. And enjoy the sunset and panoramic view of Bagan at a huge Pyathtgyi Temple. Overnight will be a hotel in Bagan.
Day 8.Bagan Sightseeing
In the morning, we visit colorful morning vegetable market in Nyaung Oo, the best model Shwezegone Pagoda, Htilominlo Temple, three story temple with amazing architecture style and Khayminga five-corner stupas compound. After lunch, proceed to lacquer ware factory to study the process of lacquer ware making in Bagan. It is a unique souvenir of not only Bagan but also Myanmar. In the evening, we visit around Manuha Buddha images, the only one stone carving decorated temple, Nan Phayar and Gupyutgyi Temple which famous for its 11th century painting inside. Enjoy the unforgettable vista of Bagan and wonderful moment in your life by watching the sunset from a peaceful and quiet Temple. Night stop will be same as last night.
Day 9.Bagan- Inle
Proceed to Inle lake by morning flight to discover lifestyle of the Inthar people who live in the highest lake of the country, Inle lake, which is the second largest lake and lies among the hazy blue mountain of the Shan mountain range. Leg rolling fisher men, floating tomato gardens, weaving and silver smith villages are unique attraction of the lake. We’ll visit Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda for its 11th century style five golden Buddha images museum at Jumping Cat Monastery in the day time. On the way back to hotel, we enjoy the beautiful sunset on the shoulder of hazy blue mountain range behind the lake will feel you as in paradise. Night stop at a hotel on the lake will be good experience for all of you.
Day 10.Inle, Indein
Today, firstly we will visit colorful five-day morning market. On the way, enjoy the scenic boat driving among the beautiful floating vegetable islands and ethnic floating villages. You will see many Shan tribes who trade their local products at morning market. After that, proceed to Indein, which is located on the western bank of the lake. On the way to Indein, enjoy the upstream driving through small locks of the narrow stream surrounded by greed bamboo forest and paddy field. Indein is famous for his old pagodas complex in which over one thousand ruinous pagodas. It looks like small Bagan which hiding in the bushes for long time. Take your time free among these old monuments and back to hotel in the evening . Overnight will be at the same place as last night.
Day 11.Inle – Yangon
After breakfast at the hotel, visit one of the morning markets or some more floating villages by boat. Proceed to Heho airport to take flight to Yangon. Upon to your arrival at Yangon, make some more sightseeing and visit Bogyoke market for your last shopping opportunity. Enjoy your dinner and take a rest at the hotel in Yangon.
Day 12.Inle – Yangon
After leisure morning, we will pick you up at your hotel to Yangon International Airport for your onward departure flight. It will be the end of your great experience on the wonderful trip with Travel Expert.
