NGAPALI BEACH

NGWE SAUNG BEACH

CHAUNG THA BEACH

ChaungTha is 246km from Yangon, a five hour drive that takes you through luch green paddy fields. En route, you can visit Pathein, the capital of the Ayeyarwaddy division. Pathein is the home of Myanmar's famous umbrella making factory, where colours and patterns on the natural handmade parasols will be a feast for your eyes. You can also sample PatheinHalawar, a local specialty snack made from rice.ChaungTha beach offers white crested waves, and many visitors try their hand at surfing them. Two nearby islands – Pokala and Thebyu – are reachable by motorboat and a one hour drive takes you to NgweSaung beach, also a beautiful destination.

KANTHAYAR BEACH

Kantharyar is a pleasant beach resort for those who want to get away from the noise, hustle and bustle life of Kantharyar is 104 km south of Ngapali beach in Rakhine state, a six hour drive from Yangon. The drive takes you through paddy fields, orchard, bamboo forest and peaceful villages. Alternately, you can fly part way to thandwe and cut the driving journey to three hours. This quiet, often deserted beach is a pleasant antidote the noise and bustle of the city.
For bird watching enthusiasts, it offers many delights as the area is home to a variety of tropical and migratory birds. Short walks are possible in the surrounding hills.

Hotels in Kinthayar are offered superior and standard rooms, and many have large verandas facing the sea. Local tea shops and cafes offer cheap but tasty dining.
