Putao and its Vicinity
4 Days / 3 Nights
Day 1.Putao Arrival
Upon arrival at Putao airport, you will be welcomed by our representative to pick you up to the downtown of Putao which lies in a flat valley, jumping-off point for trekkers who want to explore the region’s deep forests, wildlife sanctuaries and snow-capped mountains. After a brief fresh up at a local restaurant, check in for your accommodation.
After take a rest at your hotel or guest house, enjoy scenic driving to Mularshide village. After sightseeing in the village, we will walk on the beautiful bridge which over Mular river. Looking to the snowcap mountain from the bridge will be the best introduction to northern Myanmar. You will seed crystal ice white water on the rocky river “ Mular”. Fishingchildren, women watching on a stone of river, bamboo-rafting men on the current river, kind fisher and sweet sound of the river will send you to be in the nature. Dinner will be at a local restaurant and proceed to Shankaung village for one night.
Day 2: Shankaung village – Mt. Shankhaung – Putao
In the early morning enjoy your breakfast and start trekking on the shoulder of Mt. Shankhaung which is famous for it’s evergreen rain forest and jade mine. It will be the best trekking and give you nature and wild life experiences. The trek to the summit of Mt.Shangaung with the distance of 10 km will take about 4 hours trek. The first 9 Km will be straight up along the trail winding up to the top of the mountain. After lunch, enjoy the panoramic view of the Putao at the top of the mountain, the trail will go down with 9 km to the village on the same trail back. On arrival at the village, take your leisure at Rawan house near a small rocky river. In the evening, drive back to Putao and night stop will be at a hotel in Putao.
( Optional Sightseeing if you do want to trek to Mt.Shankhaung )
After breakfast, strolling in and out of the village to observe the way of life of the Lizu and Rawan people. And then, visitMarmuleLizu village, MudoneRawan village. Lunch will be in Putao. In the evening,trek to Makyawwa Lisu Village for sightseeing by walking.It will take you back one century ago. You can visit river site, Lise and Rawan traditional houses and their families. Dinner and night will be in Putao.
Day3: Putao morning market – Kaungmulone Pagoda-Manhkuk village, Nankhan Village –Machanbaw–Malikha River Boat Trip- Putao
After breakfast at the hotel, visit Putao Morning Market and stroll around town to observe the way of life of the people. After leisure morning sightseeing, proceed to Kaungmulone Pagoda which stands on the bank of the Malikha river and famous as the most holiest place of the northern Myanmar. We will enjoy the scenic driving and visit Mankuk andNankhanvillages on the waytoMularshide, a small administrations town. In the evening, make a boat trip to Nat island which stand on the Malikhariver as a tiny island. Dinner and overnight stay will same as last night.
Day 4.Putao – Myintkyina / Mandalay / Yangon by flight
In the early morning visit morning market and have breakfast at a local restaurant. After that, visit Hakaborazi and Phoneganrazi national parts wild life education center, Fort Hertz and transfer to airport for your domestic flight to Yangon or Mandalay. If time permitted, you will visit a village to observe daily lifestyle of the local people.

Itinerary
“To The Last Village of the North-West of Myanmar, Ziyardan village”
(7 Days / 6 Nights trekking trip)
Day 1: Arrival at Putao– Shangaung village (L/D)
Upon arrival at Putao airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to Putao which lies in a flat valley, jumping-off point for trekkers who want to explore the region’s deep forests, wildlife sanctuaries and snow-capped mountains. After a brief fresh up at a local restaurant, we shall take a jeep or truck depending on the group size to upper Shangaung village with the distance 17 km which takes us about one hour. Shangaung is one of the big villages on the vicinity of Putao inhabitant of both Lisu and Rawan tribes. Dinner and overnight at Shangaung Village.
Day 2: Shangaung – Wasandum( Trek) (B/L/D)
After breakfast, the adventure trail starts as trek to Wasan6dum village with the distance 20 km which takes us about 7 hours trek through Mt. Shangaung at 1362 meters. First 10 km will be straight up along the trail winding up to the top of Mt.Shangaung from then trail goes all the way down to Wasandum. This will be the testing journey for you as the trail have to ascend from 915 meters up to 1362 meters. Wasandum is a small Rawan village situates by Namro creek. Upon arrival, check in at the a village house and for those who wish to wash up may go to Namro creek to do so with crystal clean water. Dinner and overnight will be at the village house.
Day 3: Wasandum –Awadum– Ziyadum (Trek) (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you will headed to the village for today destination at Ziyadum, through relatively flat land with just few of ups and downs. At first we cross Namro Creek to Awadum with the distance 7.4 km which takes us about 3 hours. Awadum is mainly inhabited by Lisu and separate in to two by a large paddy field. Here we cross a suspension bridge that spans Namlang creek to Kalang village with the distance 4.8 km which should takes us about 1.5 hours. We continue trek to Ziyadum village with the distance 6.4 km which takes us about 2 hours through deep evergreen forests. Ziyadum, situate at altitude of 3440 ft, 1048 meters is the most northwestern and last frontier village in Putao region, mainly resident are Rawan tribes. It is recommended to visit Ziya creek for a fantastic sunset view with a blazing SnowMountains in the west which spark in to steady flowing Ziya creek. Dinner and overnight at a village house in Ziyadum village will serve you local experiences.
Day 4: Ziyadum – Chaungzone - Ziyadum (Trek) (B/L/D)
After breakfast, beyond the last village trek will start with a 9.6 kilometers walk to Chaungzone camp, taking around 3 hours. The journey first crosses over Phangran creek by suspension bridge then traverse an evergreen forest with slightly undulating tracks. All of you will be in the dense forest to enjoy the nature. Lunch will be on the bank of the rocky river. After taking your leisure time at Chaungzone which is beautiful place of two small creeks meet to become Namyanrive, we will beck to the village. All of you will have good time in the last village to enjoy the nature and culture. Standing on the bank of the Ziyarriver and lying in the valley of every green forest mountains, Ziyar village will give you authentic natural and cultural beauties of northern Myanmar. Dinner and overnight will be at the same place.
Day 5: Ziyadum – Kalang - Wasundum (Trek) (B/L/D)
After breakfast, start trek to Kalang village for about 3 hours. It lines between ever green forest and with cristal ice water river. Visiting inside the villages houses will show you authentic way of life of the mountain tribes. Enjoy the village sightseeing and early lunch in Kalang. After lunch, you will cross over suspension bridges at Awadum and passing through under lush evergreen forest. It is one of the photogenic places on your trip. In the late afternoon, you will arrive at Wasundum village again. Dinner and overnight will be at the traditional house at Wasundum village.
Day 6: Wasundum –Shangaung (B/L/D) (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you will resume the journey to Shangaung village. The trek goes challenging uphill to the plateau of Mt. Shangaung, before rapidly downhill to Shangaung. This evening we will celebrate a farewell dinner with our fellow group members, including leaders, porters, and commemorate the experience that you’ve shared for the past 9 days in this unique part of the world. Dinner and overnight will be at the same village house in Shangaung village.
Day 7: Shanguang – Putao – Mandalay / Yangon (B)
In the early morning, transfer back to Putao to visit the morning market and have breakfast at a local restaurant. Then, transfer to airport for your domestic flight to Yangon or Mandalay. If time permitted, you will visit one of the local villages to observe daily lifestyle of local people.

In the late afternoon, take a boat to make Malikha River sightseeing. Visiting Nat Island will be highlight of the day. In the evening, drive back to Putao and Night stop at the same place.
Day 3: Putao- Shankaung village
After breakfast, visit Putao Morning Market and trek to Makyawwa Lisu Village for sightseeing by strolling around the village. And then, drive to Shankhaung village which lies behind the evergreen forest Jade mountain on the north-east point of Putao. On the way, visit MarmuleLizu village, MudoneRawan village. In the evening, arrive at Shangaung village and take a short rest at a Rawan house which lines on the bank of the river. Evening village sightseeing will take you back one century ago. Day 4: Shankaung village – Mt. Shankhaung – Putao
In the early morning enjoy your breakfast and start trekking on the shoulder of Mt. Shankhaung which is famous for it’s evergreen rain forest and jade mine. It will be the best trekking and give you nature and wild life experiences. The trek to the summit of Mt.Shangaung with the distance of 10 km will take about 4 hours trek. The first 9 Km will be straight up along the trail winding up to the top of the mountain. After lunch and enjoy the panoramic view of the Putao at the top of the mountain, the trail will go down with 9 km to the village on the same trail. On arrival at the village, take your leisure at Rawan house or along the rocky river. Dinner and night stop will be at the same village.
Day 5: Shanguang – Putao – Mandalay / Yangon
In the early morning, transfer back to Putao to visit the morning market and have breakfast at a local restaurant. After that, visit Hakaborazi and Phoneganrazi national parts wild life education center, ForthHatzand transfer to airport for your domestic flight to Yangon or Mandalay. If time permitted, you will visit a villages to observe daily lifestyle of local people.
